L'Arche Calgary Homes

At the heart of L'Arche Calgary are the five homes where people with developmental disabilities and the assistants with which they share their lives live. The five houses in Calgary are: Annapurna, Haeremai, Kichiyak, Marymount, and Villa Maria. They are all located in the city's southwest and surround Chinook Shopping Center.

Each home has its own unique atmosphere and personality. This is due largely in part to the personalities of those that live there, especially those with disabilities. The homes in Calgary have around eight to ten people living in them, three to four of which have developmental disabilities.

The Calgary community is fortunate to have a sixth home called The Cenacle. This is the spiritual center of the community. It provides a location for prayer and quiet reflection and contains an extensive library of books and reading material.

The homes of L'Arche Calgary provide the setting in which we strive to live the mission of the community, written below.

L'Arche Calgary Mission:
L'Arche creates homes and faith communities
where people with developmental disabilities and those who share life with them
find a place of belonging and reveal their gifts.
