Welcome to L'Arche Calgary
A Community of Belonging, Sharing the Lives of People with Developmental Disabilities
L’Arche Calgary has five homes in Calgary, a Supported Independent Living Program and Tamarack Day Program. L'Arche Calgary supports 32 people with developmental disabilities with 20 Live In Assistants who come to us from around the world.
L'Arche is a way of life, but it's also a model of care that is unique. In our community, people with intellectual disabilities are at the heart of L'Arche. They're not clients, patients, or recipients of services, but rather they are friends, teachers, and companions.
People with developmental disabilities grow through their encounters in L'Arche. Through daily acts of care, trust, and friendship, they develop into ambassadors of compassion and leaders for social change and the common good. Through mutual relationships with our core members, our Assistants, personnel and volunteers grow as well.
Today, L'Arche International has 149 L'Arche communities in 38 countries on five continents. There are 29 L'Arche communities in Canada.

Our Coffee House
Every Monday, our Core Members welcome members of other communities, day programs and friends to join us at our Coffee House. We serve free coffee and scones. We often have live entertainment for all to enjoy. We have a variety of games (ie: Uno, Skip-bo, Jenga, dominos, cribbage etc) for us to play.
