L’Arche in Canada has nearly 200 homes and workshops or day programs in 29 communities across Canada, from Vancouver Island to Cape Breton.

The L’Arche Canada Foundation is a not-for-profit charity that raises funds on behalf of L’Arche Canada and is committed to transforming the lives of people with disabilities, nation-wide.

L’Arche in Alberta

There are three L'Arche communities in Alberta. In addition to L'Arche Calgary, there is L'Arche Edmonton and L'Arche Lethbridge.

Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD)

Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) is an Alberta Government program that helps eligible adults with disabilities plan, coordinate, and access services to live as independently as they can in their community.

Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS)

The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) is a non-profit association of Community Disability Services (CDS) sector organizations in Alberta. Our member-driven organization works closely with the Government of Alberta and other partners, to strengthen the CDS sector to benefit Albertans with developmental disabilities.

Alberta Health Services - Capacity Assessment

AHS provides assessment services to determine adults' decision-making capacity. These assessments are undertaken for a variety of reasons, not only for an intellectual disability. Sometimes, a person who was previously able to make decisions independently may now require support due to aging, illness, or injury. Assessment Teams are made up of professionals who work to determine whether a co-decision-maker, guardian, or trustee should be appointed.
